Does your cat drink little?

Unfortunately this is normal. The cat is used to drinking little because many breeds originate from arid areas where water has always been scarce.

This allowed the cat to survive with little water but not without problems. The cat, in fact, has its weak point in the kidneys that we recommend to have it checked as early as the seventh year of age.

If the cat is not “encouraged” to drink water, he will not particularly feel the need and this, in the long run, can lead to various dysfunctions in his kidney system.

However, we can help him drink more by providing him with moist foods that are naturally rich in water. This will greatly decrease the risk of kidney disease.

Nutrition, once again, is essential if we want to keep our cat long-lived and healthy.
