During the holidays, there is no better place to spend time with our furry friend from the beach, especially if our pup likes to swim and play in the sand. Unfortunately, however, not all bathing establishments can accommodate our animals, so we must choose and understand where to go to spend a nice holiday together.
In addition to offering a beautiful sea, Tuscany is also equipped with numerous dog-firnedly beaches that are specially designed for our furry friends !
Here is a list of dog-friendly beaches in Tuscany:
1: Pascià Glam Beach in Perelli : a beautiful beach with 200 meters of white sand overlooking the Sterpaia Park, in the hamlet of Piombino, in the province of Livorno. Here dogs and their owners can, in the same way, immerse themselves in the water or rest in the shade of the pine forest after a swim.
2: Dog Beach of San Vincenzo: this is a puppy’s dream come true, no hourly limitations for swimming in the sea, space to wander around and a wide range of water (unsalted) to drink when he is thirsty and no limit of friends to find. Dogs of all sizes and breeds are allowed on the beach. The only thing to watch out for is that aggressive behavior is not tolerated , so be aware if your furry friend tends to fidget around other dogs.
3: Dog Beach Mola : in Porto Azzurro , on the Island of Elba, located near a wetland used as a dock for many small boats. It has an extension of more than 500 meters, and is a white pebble beach with small brown pebbles and a fine sand bottom. Deckchairs and sun loungers, umbrellas and free parking are available; if you are looking for an uncrowded dog beach with a lot of space to lie down, this is the one!
4: Playa del Can : in the heart of the wild Maremma, there is the Spanish-inspired beach “Playa del Can”. The owners can bring a maximum of two furry friends per person and there is a dedicated bathing area marked by buoys. Shaded spaces are always available on the beach and, above all, lots of water.
5: Fuorirotta Beach Club: located in Marina di Grosseto , it is equipped with a special shower for dogs, sun loungers and umbrellas for the owners and has a bar-restaurant with an area reserved for owners and their furry friends.
