The cat, of all domestic animals, is undoubtedly the most fascinating, curious and… mysterious!
The behavior of the cat, due to their strong independence, is not always easy to understand : for this reason it can be difficult, at least in the early days, to establish that special relationship of deep trust between pet and owner.
So is there a way to understand our cat’s behaviors?
There are different behaviors that can be recognizable in every cat, in which it is possible to find a precise meaning.
1. Why does the cat love to rub against people’s legs? It is a kind of welcome ritual , as if it were his way of greeting us and it is also a way to mix his smell with ours, to feel more at ease among us.
2. Why does the cat “knead” the womb of the owner with its front paws? Anyone who has a cat will have seen this gesture many times! It is simply a childish behavior that the cat repeats when it sees a person sitting and with the belly free. At that moment the cat receives the signal similar to the call of a mother cat for feeding.
3. Why does the cat move its tail in certain situations? In this case it is not a question of “wagging the tail”! It is generally believed that the cat is angry, but in reality it is in a conflictual state , that is, it would like to do two things at the same time, but one excludes the other. So when the cat is attracted to two opposite desires , its tail reacts as if the body is first pushed to one side, and then to the other.
4. Why does the cat like to get his nails done on sofas or armchairs? This is one of the questions that cat owners ask themselves most often, especially when the sofas are found destroyed! The cat (unfortunately) uses our furniture both to sharpen its nails, and as an excellent physical strengthening training , a fundamental movement to capture prey, climb, and a way to leave its smell and mark the territory.
Here are some of the “strange” behaviors of our cat revealed!
Although cats, unlike dogs and other pets, have a more independent and often inscrutable character, they can still give us the same affection and love!
